Hi all you ceramic artists out there. I imagine you have probably already heard about AMACO/Brent, a supplier of all things to do with ceramic arts? Mainly this amazing site gives you important information and resources as well as a great selection of ceramic arts products. AMACO/Brent has been a leader in ceramic arts education and has made a variety of art lessons plans obtainable for free on their website. An important factor when making products for use in schools, is that the products are safe and non-toxic and suitable for use by young fingers that tend to wander to mouths.

These products are certified by ACMI (the Arts and Crafts Materials Institute) to be non-toxic and lead-free, and AMACO sells a great variety of Acmi glazes and Acmi clays. That makes the AMACO/Brent products a perfect choice for use within the classroom. Among the Acmi clays are many different air dry clays. These are clays that don’t need to be fired in a kiln to harden or dry sufficiently. They also have Acmi clays that require firing that have a variety of different qualities depending on what effect the ceramic worker is wanting to achieve. For example the white stoneware clay has some characteristics of porcelain and is great for working with larger pieces.

In addition to a great selection of clays and glazes, AMACO/Brent sells everything a ceramic arts project would require. You will find texturizing tools, slab rollers, slump molds, brushes, and bisque ceramic tiles for experimenting with glazes. You will find anything that you need for your ceramic arts products at amaco.com. Don’t scrimp on quality and risk inferior results. Your creative efforts deserve nothing but the best.
